WhatsApp users are warned that from today, WhatsApp accounts will be closed on all mobile phones that are using the old software. WhatsApp, the world's most popular messaging app, announced a few days ago that users who are using Android mobiles version 4.0.4 or iOS mobile phones on older operating systems will not be able to use WhatsApp accounts from November 1.  To restore WhatsApp accounts, Android users will need to update to version 4.1 or 4.3, also known as 'Android Jelly Bean', while iPhone users will need to update their software to iOS 10 or higher.   

Users can check whether their mobile is working under the old operating system or version by going to the settings of their mobile phones. To check this, click on the Settings option in the cell phone and go to About Phone from where the version of the operating system will be easily known.

 However, if a user is working on an older version of their smartphone, they should go to 'System and Updates' and update the software from there so that they can save the WhatsApp account.

 In addition, if a user's phone fails to update to the latest version, he will have to buy a new smartphone to use the WhatsApp account. In this case, the user must keep their backup chats safe.
